The festival is one of the highlights of the year for Abene and takes place between 26th December and 2nd January. It attracts music and djembe fans from around the world and musicians from across the region. The different ethnic groups of the region express themselves, strengthening social ties between nations and promoting local cultural heritage.

Abene Festivalo can also offer you percussion workshops and dance lessons, including Bougarabou, djembe, séourouba etc. Artists are on hand to help you discover the rhythms of the Casamance.
